This is part of “the C Series,” consisting of chests with check patterns created by crossing mother of pearl and pieces of hemp cloth based on traditional craft such as mother of pearl, hemp cloth and lacquer. The elements of this work, such as the unique properties of traditional craft substances, the shapes of the legs and hinges, harmonize with the simple form and pattern design, adding the value of the craft to modern living spaces.
자개, 삼베, 옻칠 등 전통 공예(craft)를 바탕으로 자개와 삼베 조각을 교차시켜 격자무늬 패턴(check pattern)을 이루는 반닫이(chest) “C” 시리즈. 전통 공예재료들의 고유의 물성, 다리 모양, 경첩과 같은 작품을 구성하는 요소들이 심플한 형태, 패턴 디자인과 조화를 이루며 현대 생활 공간에 공예(工藝)적 가치를 더하는 작품.
