THE GARDEN

The scenery of flowers, grass, and birds filling the surface is as fresh and vivid as if a small flower bed planted in a garden has directly transported itself onto the surface. The use of colors such as green and red, which echo nature, were processed via the Maki-e technique. The images of birds were carved through mother-of-pearl, while those of petals, grass flowers, etc. were cut and joined one by one. The work conveys the hope to invoke comfort and a sense of healing through the natural scenery that exudes vitality and liveliness thanks to the delicate handicrafts and use of natural materials.

화면을 가득 메운 꽃과 풀, 새 의 풍경이 정원에 심어진 작은 꽃밭을 그대로 옮겨놓은 듯 싱그럽고 화사하다. 자연의 색과 가까운 초록, 빨강 등의 컬러를 Maki-e 기법으로 작업하고, 새 형상을 자개로 조각하며 꽃잎, 풀꽃 등을 하나하나 자르고 붙여가며 완성했다. 섬세한 수공 작업과 천연소재 사용으로 활기와 생생함이 느껴지는 자연 풍경을 통해 위안과 힐링을 얻기를 바라는 마음을 담은 작품이다.
